Being able to cook is an important life skill. Knowing how to prepare food, ways to use healthier cooking methods and trying new tastes can help us all make healthier food choices.

People tell us that being able to find out more about practical ways to plan, shop, prepare and cook food has helped them and their families to have a more varied and nutritious diet. Whether making meals go further by adding healthy beans and pulses, ways to eat more fruit and vegetables, finding better value foods in your local shops and supermarkets or adapting recipes to make them healthier, we aim to support people to find what works for them.

It is really important to understand and follow good hygiene and safe practice in the kitchen. This film outlines what is required when taking part in practical cookery sessions or courses and provides guidance about important food hygiene and kitchen safety information to keep yourself and others safe.
Get Cooking is a practical, hands- on cooking course that is fun and informal. The course is delivered by trained community tutors; groups meet for 2 hours a week for 7 weeks either online or face-to-face. The course offers the added bonus of gaining credit for learning (2 credits at Level 1) from Agored Cymru.

Come and Cook/Dewch I Goginio is a nutrition and practical food skills course that combines cooking and nutrition activities in a relaxed, informal setting. Delivered mainly in North Wales where it was co-produced with community members, the course is delivered by trained community tutors.
Groups meet for 2 ½ hours a week for 6 weeks either online or face-to-face. The course is accredited by Agored Cymru and provides participants with the opportunity to gain 3 credits at Level 1.
