Welsh Network of Healthy Schools Scheme (WNHSS) and National Quality Award (NQA)
The Welsh Government’s Healthy Schools Scheme and the National Quality Award consists of eight action areas that schools have to achieve to receive the award: nutrition, physical activity, personal development & relationships, substance use & misuse, mental and emotional health and wellbeing, environment, safety, and hygiene.
How can we help?
The Community Food and Nutrition Skills course equips healthy schools co-ordinators with the nutrition knowledge, skills and confidence to assess food and nutrition actions and to provide consistent food and nutrition messages for school aged children and young people. It supports a whole school approach to food & nutrition and contributes towards improving and maintaining the nutritional health and well being of the school community.
